The world's first tap dancing podcaster, Sondra Lowell, was also the first tap dancing podcaster to declare the presidential race for President Bush.
The world's first tap dancing podcaster, Sondra Lowell, became the first tap dancing podcaster to declare the presidential race for President Bush earlier this morning.
Although other media beat the podcaster by several hours, these outlets did not tap dance the news and did not rhyme. And her report beat the venerated Los Angeles Times, which, on Wednesday morning, was still declaring the race in Ohio too close to call.
The accomplishment capped 24 hours of searching the Internet, TV, talk radio and her local polling place for up-to-the-minute exit polls, actual votes and heated opinions, as well as the latest prices on Bush and Kerry at Tradesports.com. Other Internet sources for Sondra's song-and-dances included the Drudgereport, MichaelMoore.com, RalphNader.com, Freerepublic.com and Democraticunderground.com.
"By sundown Pacific time, I nearly called it for Kerry," admitted the twenty-year-plus veteran of tap dancing the news. "But by the time I came up with a really good rhyme [with the help of rhymezone.com, the tide had started to turn, and I didn't want to lead my ipodders astray."
Sondra Lowell's tap dancing election reports were podcast by openpodcast.org.
Said podcasting pioneer Adam Curry of tap dancing news, "It's truly wonderful."
