In 1998, the former Indian premier Mr. I. K. Gujral
presented the Punjabi Cultural Award for services to music to Malkit Singh
at his official residence - the sole recipient of this unrivalled honour.

to the film 'Moonson Wedding' by Mira Nair.

UK box-office smash hit film 'Bend It Like Beckham' by British director
Gurinder Chadha features Malkits classic love song Jind Mahi.
Malkit Singh has played live at some of the world's most prestgious venues
including the Lincoln Center (USA), Andheri Stadium (India),
Maple Leaf Gardens (Canada), the Victoria & Albert Museum (UK).
- Malkit is listed in the Millennium edition of the Guinness Book
of World Records 2000 as the biggest selling Bhangra star ever.
