The first public demonstration of Metabolic Vision was at the Society for Industrial Microbiology Conference in Anaheim, CA, July 25-28. Metabolic Vision (www.ariadnegenomics.com/products/meta.html) combines PathwayAssist’s pathway analysis and visualization tools with Integrated Genomics’ extensive ERGO database of over 600 curated genomes to allow researchers to explore and manage microbial metabolic pathways easily, and with outstanding depth and specificity. The Metabolic Vision module is available to PathwayAssist customers as a downloadable database. There are several packages available for researchers investigating microbial metabolism, including specific packages for bacterial pathogens, antibiotic production, and fungal metabolism. “Metabolic Vision significantly increases the overall scientific value of PathwayAssist, adding curated microbial and fungal data to our eukaryotic molecular interaction databases. It combines dynamic pathway visualization tools with detailed biochemical pathways from the ERGO database by Integrated Genomics,” said Natalia Alexandrova, Marketing Director for Ariadne Genomics. “We are pleased to join forces to provide a product that we believe will be an invaluable tool for industrial, academic, and biomedical researchers investigating general microbiology, pathogenicity, antibiotic biosynthesis, and fungal genomics,” added Dave Oehler, Director of Sales and Marketing with Integrated Genomics. PathwayAssist is available through Stratagene everywhere except Japan, and through Infocom in Japan. A downloadable demo version of Metabolic Vision is available from Ariadne Genomics’ website. About Integrated Genomics Integrated Genomics (www.integratedgenomics.com) is a bioinformatics products and services company that specializes in enabling high quality genomic research for the life science industry. The company focuses on microbial genomics and its industrial and medical applications, assisting customers in several ways: genome sequencing to fully complete or “close” genomes; the ERGO software suite, a powerful, proprietary tool that offers comprehensive genomic analysis from a diverse and rapidly expanding database of prokaryotic, eukaryotic and archael organisms; custom bioinformatics projects that provide results ranging from ORF calling to genome annotation to metabolic pathway reconstruction; and metabolic engineering to apply genomics knowledge in order to direct product formation during bioprocess optimization. About Ariadne Genomics Ariadne Genomics develops software tools for systems biology, based on its innovative natural language processing (NLP) and statistical algorithms: PathwayAssist, an intuitive desktop software tool for reconstruction, analysis and visualization of cell regulatory pathways; MedScan, an automated scientific text mining tool, extracting information from MEDLINE abstracts, articles and other text resources; ResNet, a comprehensive molecular networks database, created by automated extraction of biological facts from the entire PubMed, and Seqware, a PC-based BLAST server, storing and managing the entire GenBank and more. |
