The Hawaiian Islands' Newest Bed and Breakfast Captures the Aloha Spirit
Publish Date : 10/9/2007 9:21:00 AM   Source : Travel and Hotels News Onlypunjab.com

The Big Island of Hawaii welcomes its latest bed and breakfast. Conveniently located between Hilo and Volcano, Coconut Cottage Bed & Breakfast opened its doors to guests in October 2007. With the theme of vintage Hawaii, this new establishment is a must see and stay for any visitor to the Big Island of Hawaii.

Coconut Cottage Bed & Breakfast is in the heart of the tropical Puna district in Leilani Estates and seven miles from the world famous live volcano lava flow.

Guests can enjoy an acre of botanical gardens, snorkeling, nearby eco tours, black sand beaches filled with sea turtles and dolphins, breathtaking waterfalls, orchid gardens, natural steam vent caves and the world famous Mauna Loa observatory.

Owners and innkeepers, Jerry Cooksey and Todd Horton are fulfilling their life long dreams of owning and operating a bed and breakfast in Hawaii. "For years we have vacationed in Maui, Oahu, and Kauai on an annual basis, but when we discovered the Big Island we knew we had found our new home," said Cooksey and Horton. "The Big Island is so diverse and offers limitless things for people to do," they said.

The Red Road drive was especially appealing to the innkeepers. "For years we had heard about what many people call 'the most beautiful drive in all the Hawaiian Islands' and when we experienced it for ourselves we knew this was the place for us," they said. "We also love the old town feel of Hilo. We've read that it's like Honolulu before the jets arrived and one can certainly see how this could be true."

Hilo is the Hawaiian Islands' second largest city and annually hosts the world famous Merrie Monarch Festival, which is the world's largest celebration of the hula and Hawaiian culture.

Coconut Cottage Bed and Breakfast has four suites, including a secluded bungalow with a kitchenette. Each suite and the bungalow have their own private bathrooms. Breakfast is served on the vintage style lanai that overlooks the picturesque botanical gardens.
