This winter, visitors to Point Reyes and the San Mateo Coast can take advantage of weeknight special offers at both the Point Montara Lighthouse Hostel and the Point Reyes Hostel. Travelers visiting on weeknights can stay one night and get the second night at half-price, Sunday through Thursday, from November 4, 2007, to February 28, 2008, excluding federal holidays. Perched on a cliff overlooking the Pacific, the Point Montara Lighthouse is a unique coastside destination 25 miles south of San Francisco and 7 miles north of Half Moon Bay. The hostel is both a secluded retreat and a gateway to outdoor adventures including surfing, swimming, kayaking, windsurfing and horseback riding. Guests are accommodated in both shared and private rooms in the former Coast Guard quarters, and enjoy cozy lounges, a secluded beach cove with tide pools and landscaped native plant gardens.
