"There was no central place to go for information," say Tobin. GoToby.com went live one year ago. It now boasts a daily average of over 550 visitors and 5000 page views. GoToby.com appears on the first page (top 10) of Google search results in over 75 unique real estate related search strings. It reports extensively on Centex Destination Properties (CDP) and Bobby Ginn's Ginn Resorts, two of the area's largest developers.
Packed with over 350 pages of content, GoToby.com provides the usual real estate oriented website's ability to search current listings but adds much more -- recent sales data, building permits, and information about residential and commercial developments, both established and under development. You can also find timely news, analytical newsletters, incisive commentary, topical articles and interesting rumors. The Dear Toby section provides real estate questions and answers.
"50% of our traffic is direct, 30% via search engines, and 20% from referrals," reports Tobin. More than 700 other web pages link to GoToby.com. Each month, 41% of site visits are unique. The rest are returning visitors. "I have learned more about Palm Coast, and what is happening in our area, from GOTOBY.COM than I have in the past five years of living here, from anyone, or any other form. The articles are very well written, and the website is superb," says one visitor. "You are one of the few lucid thinkers bold and talented enough to put your thoughts to words," says another. More than 300 members have registered to receive email updates of new content.
Located along the Atlantic coast midway between Daytona Beach and historic St. Augustine, the City of Palm Coast and Flagler County are rated among the fastest growing in the country. The combination of the area's affordability with the expected surge of retiring baby boomers bodes well for local real estate development and for the future of GoToby.com.
