The Key West Innkeepers Association will be hosting its sixth annual Historic Lighted Inn Tour this December, showcasing twenty historic inns, food of Key West's premier restaurants, and the work of local artists.

"When people think of Key West they imagine palm trees, warm weather, water sports, and our famous nightlife," said Ian J. Whitney, President of the Key West Innkeepers Association. "This vibrant island holiday season will show visitors that tropical weather and warm ocean breezes can be as conducive to the holiday spirit as snow."

On four enchanted evenings- December 7th, 8th, 14th, and 15th- visitors and local residents alike will be given the opportunity to share in the holiday spirit while exploring five to six beautifully decorated island inns. At each of the event locations, guests will tour properties featuring unique architectural styles, guest amenities, and ambiance, and then will be able to taste the culinary masterwork of some of the island's top chefs. Each inn is being paired up with one of the island's premier restaurants.

The Key West Innkeepers Association and Studios of Key West are working in partnership to include the work of local artists, writers, and performers in each of the inns. This adds a new dimension to the tour that exposes visitors and local residents to the work of many individuals who are adding to the artistic legacy of Key West.

Current participating inns include: Avalon, Ocean Breeze, Mermaid & Alligator, Conch House, Andrews Inn, Wicker Guesthouse, Almond Tree Inn, Tropical Inn, Blue Parrot, Paradise Inn, Mango Tree Inn, Weatherstation Inn, Old Town Manor, Curry Mansion, Cypress House, Westwinds, Island City House, and the Frances Street Bottle Inn.

"The Historic Lighted Inn Tour is just one of many reasons why tourists will visit Key West this holiday season," said Whitney. "From performances of the Nutcracker, featuring professional dancers from across the nation working with the Paradise Ballet Theater, to Key West's famous New Year's celebrations, there are events and activities that will put everyone in the holiday spirit from late November through early January."

The Key West Innkeepers Association represents over sixty-five of the island finest inns, guesthouses, and Bed & Breakfasts'.
