Kingston, the capital of Jamaica, is the largest and magnificent English-speaking island of Caribbean Islands. Kingston was established in 1963 by the refugees from Port Royal, destroyed by an earthquake. By 1716 it became the main trade center of Jamaica.
The city is worth visiting in whole and particularly due to the museum of Bob Marley. Among other splendid places that should be visited is the National Gallery of Jamaica, ruins of Port Royal and Devon House, it is a palace of the first Black millionaire at the island.
The city center if formed of two parts, i.e. the historic business part of the city and a new city where the most visiting place is situated - Museum of Bob Marley built as its former residency. Some other reggae stars are Buju Banton, Sean Paul, Bounty Killer and Beenie Man also were born here.
In the twentieth century Jamaica was famous with reggae, the Rastafarian's and Bob Marley. Here constantly reggae concerts, music of love and revolution take place. There are marvelous discos, beaches and chocolate mulattoes on the island.
Nowadays, when every fiftieth person on the Earth is Rastafarian, Jamaica became their Mecca and a house-museum of Bob Marley becomes a temple at the date of his death.
