Host Gator, a web hosting provider, recently announced further contingency plans as part of its Disaster Recovery and Redundancy Plan (DRRP).
The company claims that the DRRP was developed in direct response to the increasing frequency of hurricanes in the Florida region. Although no Host Gator client experienced any interruption in their service, with recent news of other web hosting companies experiencing disruptions due to Hurricane Wilma, Host Gator has chosen to re-examine its disaster contingency plans to ensure customers receive 99.9% uptime that they are guaranteed. Some highlights include: customer service and 24/7 client support during hurricane, continued maintenance of offsite data backup, power generators and gas reserves during fuel or power crisis, additional network connectivity and relocation of administration and customer service functions to hurricane protected facilities.
"We're pleased to say that Host Gator made it through the recent hurricane season without any disruptions to our customers' uptime," said Brent Oxley, President of Host Gator. "Having a Disaster Recovery and Redundancy Plan will help reassure both clients and employees alike that we will continue to take a proactive approach towards disaster contingency plans."
